Aksharbrahman Gunatitanand Swami: Life and Work - Part 1 is the first volume of a meticulously researched, extensive biography of the exemplary life and selfless works of the first spiritual successor of Bhagwan Swaminarayan. Born in the rustic village of Bhadra, in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat, Mulji Sharma was exceptional from young age. Due to a sharp mind, diligent endeavours and deep understanding of all things spiritual, he was respected by all. His innate detachment from worldly life was evident in his every deed and word. So, when he received a call from Bhagwan Swaminarayan to renounce and become a sadhu, he did not hesitate. At the conclusion of the historic yagna in Dabhan in 1866, Bhagwan Swaminarayan initiated Mulji Sharma into the sadhu-fold and named him Gunatitanand Swami. He also identified Gunatitanand Swami as the manifest form of Aksharbrahman, his divine abode and ideal devotee. Gunatitanand Swami went on to reveal the glory of Bhagwan Swaminarayan as supreme God, and he guided countless people to the heights of spirituality. His simple, saintly and humble life of devotion and service and the wisdom of his insightful discourses are beacons for all spiritual aspirants. Aksharbrahman Gunatitanand Swami: Life and Work - Part 2 is the second volume of a meticulously researched, extensive biography of the exemplary life and selfless works of the first spiritual successor of Bhagwan Swaminarayan. Gunatitanand Swami served as the mahant to Junagadh mandir for over 40 years. From the outset, he established it as a centre of spiritual wisdom and excellence. Bhagwan Swaminarayan had instructed him to focus on imparting spiritual knowledge to all. So, in Junagadh and wherever he travelled, he constantly gave spiritual discourses, which included explaining the supreme glory of Bhagwan Swaminarayan. His talks, compiled and known as the Swamini Vato, were perceptive, candid and full of practical counsel. However, the most important reason they were effective, stirring aspirants of all backgrounds to spiritual action, was that he lived what he preached. Gunatitanand Swami’s life was the embodiment of perfect spirituality. Through his exemplary life of devotion, humility, austerities, faith in God, worldly detachment and selfless service, he inspired countless people to experience the bliss of spiritual fulfilment.
